door speakers enclosed- enough?
Hi. ok please help me with this one, if You guys don't mind. I will make my door speakers 6.5" enclosed so there wont be air movement to inside of the door. Will that help with SQ and bass response on its own? or it will still require full soundeadning of the door? (covering the inside and outside and the big openings with soundeadner?).
If i have to do that to get big improvement in SQ and bass response i will buy the deadner, but its really painful to spend that much money on a rubber on tin foil :/ (I did check out that blue skin (blue seal its actually called), after calculating the total cost of everything needed for the install it came to 20% cheaper and looots of extra work and risk that it may not work over a long period of time, so not worth a risk. - there was a fluid form of it, and I bought that since its the same thing like the fluid deadners that audio companies offer but 1/2 the price(the big 5gal containers are even cheaper so its worth buying if you can use all of that- covers 75sqft with 60mil for $120), so i will coat the real deadner with it like they recommend) basically I will try anything to get around that cost, BUT like I said if the improvement will be worth it, I will do so. thanks to all of You, and sorry for dragging this topic that long....

Ive been wondering about enclosures for door speakers too. Since the adapter rings for my 6.5" doors apparently arent available in Canada, I have to fab some kind of mount. While Im doing that, I might as well make them fully enclosed if that will help the sound. Anyone ever done this?

Sound deadening has made a big difference in sound in very vehicle I've ever owned and placed it on. Deadening the doors is one of the first things I do now. Sort of automatic, new vehicle = $100 at Best Buy for Dynamat Extreme Door kit.... They go hand in hand for me. lol

Well that was my question how big they have to be? The standard boxes for 6x9's aren't that big, so I figured 6.5" should be even smaller???
