also in reference to voltage rails.... i dont think i mentioned anything about how they work.. or the theory behind there output.but as far as more output than the rails can put out thats not the question. its how does the amp give more sound when the rails ar saturated, or when the wave exceeds the rail then the output transister is on full time. making it work at max. efficient condition.. ex class d amps... so how does the amp get louder on saturation.. well the fundamental of a square wave has a 27% more voltage and 62% more power than the square wave itself thus the extra energy results in about 2db more energy at the fundamental and one db in the harmonic content...

Dude, some of the stuff you type literally has me say wtf..

I need an for sure, I need to turn the volume up half way before it actually starts to get loud.

The deck is probably only pushing 15watts rms per channel, And it shows the speakers are 120watts average in the manual, Which I think...Is incredibly loud & clean.

They are the best speakers I've ever heard just with using my 5030, I wondering how much nicer it would sound with an amp.

PROBABLY DAMN GOOD.

yep got my orders confussed sorry paul.. just to much stuff on the brain lately...

You listed the equation?? Musta missed that one.....

An amp's output is determined by the voltage rails, and even more specifically the transformer... You can add 3db to the amplitude of the signal, but that doesn't make it any "louder" OR make the amp produce any more power. When you have entered the realm of clipping at the amp level you have exceeded the amplifiers capabilities of increasing output. Power=ouput. When the amp is clipping, it is outputting its maximum available power (either battery or alternator, off or running repectively) and it simply cannot produce anything more unless internal components are changed, or more voltage is available from the source. Am I missing something?

For example, are you telling me that if I add 8db to say, what.... 80Hz via my EQ curve and drive that frequency into clipping that it's going to produce more power and thus more output???? I highly doubt that. Much like the thought that if I turn my deck to max and then crank the gain it's going to get louder
