Enclose 6.25" speaker?

I've installed 6.25" speakers in my front doors. It is lacking what I believe is upper bass range. It sounds like I've got the treble and bass turned up and have drowned out the midrange. Behind the speaker is a hole in the door which opens into the area of the door with the window. See attached picture. Should I seal this hole?

Infinity Reference 6010cs components (2" silk dome tweeters, 6.25" mid bass).
Alpine MRP-F360 amp (4x40 watts, bridged to 2 channels)

Thanks,
Brian

you could always try it and see if you like it better..... you should notice a substantial increase in Q, and resonant freq. along with a decrease in bass extention.........
