Fried RCA input- help

Hi guys.

So I neglected a loose mount of rca inputs in the amp- I was driving and every big bump i hit I had mad distortion till I turned down the volume. Now when I opened up the trunk I wiggle the RCA and the thing just started arc welding on me. Rca just melted away and I pulled it out like a pudding.

Now- I never knew RCA ground cannot touch the amps body (is this normal or is it my amp screwed up?)... I think they should insulate it as much as the power wires then (mine has no insulation at all just black plastic about .5mm thin around....

I never knew there is a current going through RCA ground from the deck and its enough of it to literally weld RCA male to female and leave the amp body torched....

Deck works fine- amp I will have to swap RCA females and see but everything inside looks fine...

Is there something wrong here or should I just insulate the RCAs from the body of the amp ? (the RCA wires are the monster ones so the ground is pretty exposed.)
