so i just wired up (well almost) my system in my 74 beetle. strange problem that me and my brother have NEVER had happen.

when we go to test that the deck gets power, the fuse coming out of the 15v power wire blows up, (the deck is a Clarion dxz385usb). Its grounded properly, we even tried changing were the power and the ground plug into the harness on the back of the deck. all new wiring directly to the battery as well.
anyone have any idea whats going on?

 

tell us what wires are going to what pls (i.e red to red ,back to ? ,blue to ? so on )

yellow is power
black is ground

 

Take the cd player and test on a different car battery. If it is still popping fuses, it is fubar.

 

it does not make sense though really, i got the deck in december, had it in my jeep and it worked fine, just took it out a couple days ago

 

is there an amp ?
do you have an open wire (wires capped )taped?
is the 74 set up car is + not - (some cars are but i do not think this one is )
can you do a pic of the wires ?

 

i would test the deck to
go to the battery and test it
