Question

I've heard it said that the fuse for a competition vehicle needs to be in the main power wire withing xx inches of the battery. Is this true? And if so,does it apply to SPL vehicles?

I know some guys don't run a fuse in their "Comp-only"vehicle,so its got me wondering...

I have this fuse holder that is not sealed, and I don't want to put it somewhere where alot of moisture will get at it.So I'm wondering if I could put it in the trunk...

Any thoughts or knowledge to be shared on this idea?

Wouldnt do much good in the trunk, since its really only there to protect your battery and wiring.

If your line got nicked somewhere before the fuse the wire would ground out and as the current climbed the battery could eventually explode or your wiring catch fire. Totally leaving the fuse in the trunk unblown.

If you were going to put it in the trunk dont bother putting it there at all unless there are no fuses on your amps.... otherwise its just like having none at all.

Gotcha!!Thanks...Didnt stop to think about that...

Well..ok anyway to seal up my fuse block then and still have it in such a manor as to allow me to open it if I do need to ever change a fuse?

Maybe wrap it in plastic wrap?hehe
