both of you are right! 
..... yes methodman0666 your way is extremely well done and its how ever shop should do it IMO but like AeR0 said the seat belt bolt did work and it was extremely simple, plus i highly doubt it will cause any problems while i own the car, and when i sell chances are the stereo and wiring will come out.
