GTA Pro Installer(s) help!

I'm trying to finish the final stage of my install and I've come to road block and cannot seem to figure this out!

First off I'm trying to install a set of FOCAL K2P 165KBE. These speaker are pretty darn huge and my doors are quite thin.

The drivers fit 100% with a 1-1/8' spacer ( I used two old 1/2" plastic spacers and sandwiched them together to establish space requirements. I'd like to fab a MDF trim rings and use them instead.

The problem is once I put the door skin back in, the spacer hits a small portion of a plastic white plug. This plug is used to secure the skin to the door The vehicle is a 2007 Honda FIT with dynamat and FAT MAT in the doors

Also I'm afraid the driver is going to hit the door skin when being played and cause major annoying rattles. I also would like to avoid mounting the driver to door skin but if it's a last resort then I'll have to deal with it!

If you're thinking that I should put them in the kicks well - The K2P100's (4" & 1" are there! But I'm open to re-doing them for 6.5's if it's a worst case scenario.

I need an installer who has experience doing this type of work for my application!

I'm available to bring the car in either Monday or Tuesday next week! Or the following week.

Thanks

Did you get my PM back......

Anyways how much does it hit and did you ever think about makeing the spacer out of some thicker MDF 3/4-5/8 to bring it out a little more also what about makeing a notch in the MDF ring to go around the plug or is the speaker itelf hiting the plug.

also does the window go down and up fine

also if you have Focals like that I would really make another set of some kick panels to get the full benefit out of them

cavy man14,

No I didn't get your PM ?? ODD!! Yes window goes up and down at 1" spacing but hits the back plate so an extra 1/8" should work!

If I notch the corner it should work but I don't have the tools/experience to create such patterns. Using 3/4" or 5/8 is too shallow. The spacer has to be 1-1/8" minimum.

Kick pannels are a last resort. I spent tones of time on dynamating the doors. So I want to try that first, then I'll go kickpanels again!

Can anyone recommend a good shop in the GTA???

Thanks
