Head Unit Install

I just purchased a 98 Audi A4 with an aftermarket deck, I want to install my new eclipse, however I'm not sure how to install it. It looks like I have to remove the whole centre console. Does anyone have experience with this car, or know how to install this?

Audi A4 radio removal tool

That year of Audi has two flat 1/4" slots on the near the bottom of the factory face on both sides that you must insert two special keys into to release the spring locks that hold the deck in.
You have a couple choices either go to a strereo shop that can remove it for you or buy them here http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=187 or go to the Audi dealer or make them yourself using that picture using a pair of tin snips.

Good luck

Yes I wish I had a factory deck installed. I bought the car with an aftermarket deck in there, and I'm thinking the only way to get that out is to remove the whole console

What Brand?

What brand? I guess you've already tried the proper keys for that brand and found it is bolted in with a back bracket or ISO mounted? Well good luck then you are taking the console apart but try going through behind the glove box first. then check to see how loose the bottom part of the inside of that console is too.

cool I will try that, I also herd that you can remove the front trim, however I don't see how that is possible, nor do I want to break anything by messing around
