Help With Eclipse Avn-5435

I recently put in a AVN-5435 Head unit in my pacifica with custom installation everything seems to be working except the navigation! It does not let me work with navigation even in park mode it wont let me even set it up my house address or anything all I can see is the map but I am unable to enter destination or anything if someone could help me in why this is happening that would be great thanks a lot!!

I don`t think thats what he asked LOL

Is the home been input yet? you may need to reset it.
I have three of them but I have not used them in a bit.If you need I can power one of my cars up to look at how again.Off the top of my head is a guess.Oh what map disk do you have the I think 1.2 has errors in it and can hinder things.

Sahibn,
Can you please clarify your issues?

My AVN5435 did EXACTLY what you described. I had installed my unit three years ago, but recently it would act as if the car was moving, even when parked in my garage. Touch buttons would not work for the navi. Only emergency locations.

What I later found was a loose Parking Brake Signal wire. Might not be connected correctly to your parking brake switch. Since I couldnt find mine, I grounded mine.

Check the status of your unit and look at whether the Parking is "On" or "Off".

Or if you got this fixed, please advise me...

did it not stop at ver 2.1 also known as the MDV-07 or maybe the MDV-08(sorry I forgot have not used mine in a bit)
I figured they stopped because the model was no longer supported due to replacment models taking over the 5435`s spot in the line up.Please let me know if I am wrong I have all version of the disks now or so I figured

Yeah your right MDV-07 ver 2.1 My bad late night. but there has since been a new one released
www.eclipse-web.com/acce/mdv-087h_085h.html

MDV-087H is for the Hard Drive units (You have to send then your HU)
MDV-085H is for other AVN units and is on a disk.

MDV-087H For AVN7000
MDV-085H For AVN5495
For AVN6610 and AVN5510

When they list it like this it means this models only I was told last time I called. One of the reasons I changed out my older eclipse models to go with the 5434.

I think you are wrong on the hard drive send in as they sell the disk retail and no notes on sending your unit in.How ever looking at a few links the MDV-08D was the last for are model
Eclipse MDV-78D 2008 navigation update disc for Eclipse AVN5510/6610 navigation receivers at Crutchfield.com
Eclipse 2007 Map Update Discs Navigation map updates for select Eclipse AVN models at Crutchfield.com
Eclipse 2008 Map Update Disc Navigation map updates for select Eclipse AVN receivers at Crutchfield.com

So 2.2 is the new version I wonder what was changed.I hope it did not stop from people going to service mode and stuff like that.

Hit MENU button on the right side of screen you should come to a window.

Click on Volume. Once in the Volume MENU, click on top left where the picture of the speaker is

Then Click on bottom left (I know there's nothing there but click on it)

Then Click on top left again, the picture of the speaker

Then Click on the bottom left again
It should bring you the SERVICE MENU

If not try again it is there !!!!Takes the touch LOL

Oh if you mess up your unit don`t come to me.Change at your own risk!!
No a lot of damage you can do but it can switch things up a good bit to hinder your use
