Hit MENU button on the right side of screen you should come to a window.
Click on Volume. Once in the Volume MENU, click on top left where the picture of the speaker is
Then Click on bottom left (I know there's nothing there but click on it)
Then Click on top left again, the picture of the speaker
Then Click on the bottom left again
It should bring you the SERVICE MENU
If not try again it is there !!!!Takes the touch LOL
Oh if you mess up your unit don`t come to me.Change at your own risk!!
No a lot of damage you can do but it can switch things up a good bit to hinder your use

Same procedure.. Just have to have the map disk in the drive..
I also have this
I will find the code to do that I have it somewhere that displays on my screen when starting the car. I thought tho with ver 2.1 you could change the image. this was a hack so to speak

I was just not sure on the model if it had it.I think it works up to the AVN-6600 I was told.yes you can change all backgrounds with a bit of hacking.I have also been told of more in deph hacks but never seen them with my eyes.Just rummors I guess at this time as most won`t share the Denso code it is based on

just major programing to change things like buttons to chaging the place of them,I have been told of other hacks that change Mhz,alter sound features and things like that.I have never seen with my own eyes or had a chance to get code.I do think it was old Denso programers that did this. They won`t share and I have not seen nothing on it as of late.I do beleave someone on the tundra forums pointed me to them over a year ago.Good place to get infor on Eclipse nav units as some are stock Toyota repacked
If I had to share I would.Sorry please share your hack when you can please I forget where I put the info to do that and it has been a good year for me to use any of my three units

DDnut and who ever here you go...
The image displayed on the opening screen (which is displayed when the power is turned on) can be changed to a Jpeg image stored on a CD-R/RW.
Step 1> "When storing the image data in a CD-R/RW disc make a text file named "CSM.txt" (any content /text is OK) and store it together with the image data.
To create this necessary file, open Microsoft Notepad In Accessories. The text data within the file does not matter. Simply save the file as "CSM.txt" and Include the file on the same disc with the image or images you wish to use for the Opening Screen.
Tip: If you need to modify the image to fit the AVN screen, you can use Microsoft Paint in Accessories or any other image adjustment software.
Format for the disc and image data:
- File size: smaller than 100KB
- File name: ISO9660 standard (keep file name less than 18 characters)
- File extension: .jpg
- Max image size: 416(W) x 240(H) pixels
Step 2> Burn the image or images you want to the CD-R/RW along with the CSM.txt file. Keep the files on the root of the CD – do not store them in folders.
Changing the Welcome screen
Eject your DVD disc from the AVN unit and insert your newly created CD-R/RW disc. It will only take a few seconds to read the image data. DO NOT turn off the ignition key or power down your AVN unit during this time.
A screen will come up saying “Opening Image Change” – touch that button. The names of the images you burned to the disc should now be visible in a list. Simply touch the name of the image you want to use as your Welcome screen. The screen will change to confirm your selection. Confirm your change by pressing “OK”.
Be sure to remove your image disc before turning your AVN unit off.
