I have 2 sets of sub. First i have 1 12's 1200W Sony explode in a ported box. That is the pentagon or hexagon shape sony sub. They pound pretty nice. Second i'm using 2 10 inch audiobahn's 1800W 900RMS each. I got 2 of them. They are also in a ported box. How come the sony one pounds a lot harder. The audiobahn is a dual voice coil. Is that because i wired the dual voice coil wrong? I'm using a MTX amp. I think around 300 RMS.

What's the impedence of the sony by itself (SVC, DVC) and what's the resistance on each of the coils in the DVC Audiobahns?

You don't have a multimeter, by any chance to check the final loads, do you?

I do have a multimeter. So where do i set the multimeter to. 20V? How do i check it. I'm kind of lost. I don't want to blow up my amp or subs again. I just want to make sure. I don't think the new sony explode subs are DVC. What diff is DVC and SVC actually make? So when i hook it up to the multimeter. The reading should be what? And is high reading good or low reading good.

you want an impetitance [sp] reading. it should be in ohms. however many ohms the reading is, is what your final load is.
