Help on subs.
I have 2 sets of sub. First i have 1 12's 1200W Sony explode in a ported box. That is the pentagon or hexagon shape sony sub. They pound pretty nice. Second i'm using 2 10 inch audiobahn's 1800W 900RMS each. I got 2 of them. They are also in a ported box. How come the sony one pounds a lot harder. The audiobahn is a dual voice coil. Is that because i wired the dual voice coil wrong? I'm using a MTX amp. I think around 300 RMS.

Same amp? How much power into the xplod?
I would presume either horrible porting or incorrect wiring on the Audiobahns.
For the Audiobahns, disconnect them from the amp and read the resistance across the two terminals; note that number (for each speaker or the combination if you only have one set of wires coming out of the box). Next, grab yourself a 9v battery and connect it to the terminals ... each sub should move one way (ie: out or in). Make sure to connect the + of the battery to the + input wire, they should both move the same direction and should move approximately the same amount. If they move opposite directions, you have a problem of wiring one sub opposite to the other one. If one moves and the other basically doesn't move, you wired the coils in reverse to each other on the speaker that doesn't move.

I do have a multimeter. So where do i set the multimeter to. 20V? How do i check it. I'm kind of lost. I don't want to blow up my amp or subs again. I just want to make sure. I don't think the new sony explode subs are DVC. What diff is DVC and SVC actually make? So when i hook it up to the multimeter. The reading should be what? And is high reading good or low reading good.
