Exclamation (Hifonics Colossus and Type X's) Wiring setup questions.

I was wondering what my wiring diagram ought to look like for hoking up my (3200w x 1 ch @ 2 ohm , or 2000 w 1ch @ 4ohm) hifonics colossus amplifier. it is mosfet enabled and i would be bridging it under either application.

I have not yet decided which impedance to run the amplifier at yet, and i guess my question to you is:

1) Which would the Apline type X 10" subs respond better to .
a) 2kw @ 4ohm b) 3.2kw @ 2 ohm

2) In which order should i wire the two 4ohm voice coils on the subs together/ to the amp to achive my desired impedance. ( chosen in 1)

If I'm not mistaken the Type X subs only come in Dual 4 ohm. So you only have the option of 1, 4, and 16 ohms.

Either way, I would still go at 4 ohms.

Series each of the subs, then parallel both subs together.

colossus can be a tricky amp to wire as some of the older models are actually 2 amps in one case and they have to be bridged externally.

sick amp tho.

series the subs coils and paralelle the individual subs, thanx.

and yes you are correct it is the XX edition which requires to b bridged externaly (mosfet allows this)

i am quite anxious to see how this sounds; i have done all the installation and enclosure building myself, as my first stereo system. I have only yet to somehow find a way to mount the amp to my box. (1" mdf so it should hold up aight)

Are there any specifc ways i need to go about bridging the amp? there are 2 speaker outputs ( + - + - ) and they are ment o be bridged to 1 channel. Does this mean the amp will run at whatever impedance is created by the subs? Also is mosfet something that will automatically engage when the amp becomes bridged?

I Guess i am trying to ask were th wires coming from the amps speaker terminals should be running (or do i connect them together?)

I have spent so much time on the rest of th system that it would be a shame to foul up such a simple process like connecting my amp properly.

Extra info:

i am also running AvI component system which has plenty noise to be herd over the subs, and my subwoofer enclosure is CLOSED with a 45 degree angle fo the subs.
