How to connect rca's from mono amp to single sub out on deck
Hey Guys,
On my infinity reference 1300a mono amp there is a red/white or left and right output, but behind my new deck there is a single rca input for subwoofer. How do you connect the rca's to get the full power and have fade control? Do i use a y adapter to make it a single input?
Any advice is appreciated!
Thanks

The sarcasim is not required! I am a newbie and falling asleep here, so i got my inputs and outputs mixed up. Just been reading up on this on the net and people are saying that if you use an adapter to channel the dual rca input to a single it can cut your power in half....just simply wondering the right procedure? Do you have an answer.....

No sarcasm intended. The input/output comment was just a correction in case it wasn't by accident.
I do have an answer, don't use your fader. Just connect the both RCA's to your deck and amp. The sub out's on decks are mono, meaning they send the same signal through both rca's so left and right is irrelavent.

Oh sorry, I read your first post wrong. I thought you meant you had only had one set of rca's coming out of your deck, haven't ever heard of a single rca output that wasn't a pair. That just seems weird, but anyway. Yes, use a y adapter off the back of your deck and run a regular pair of rca's to your amp.

3 sets - front/ rear/ sub
OR
front/ rear (4 rcas total) AND sub/center(one each)
I believe it is the left side RCA on most HUs that give the bass signal. Only one RCA is needed for the sub amp. Like you mentioned , mono, not stereo
Two RCA's (or a y adaptor to a single rca) will give you more overall voltage to the amp, meaning you will use less gain for the same volume. But if you use 1 rca and turn up the gains, the overall volume should be the same.

I have an after market (bought from china on ebay) dvd multimedia deck that is 4.1 channel. It only has a single rca sub output on the back of the HU.
This is what all the questions are about cause my mono amp has a left and right on the amp.
