How long, How much...thats what she said lol
hey lads in the final phase of purchasing, for my audio upgrade.I will have replacement comps .focal.a1's and a audiobahn 1000w/2000wpeak sub.I have a 50x2 for the fronts and a 400rms kicker amp for the sub.Can anyone tell me the guage ,and how many pieces of wire i will need,of course i know I'll have to mesure the lenghts myself.I know i need a fuse as well i think..what the heck is a power cap?,anyway if ya could point me the right diretion thanx in advance.
Well you'll need power to the amp two grounds one for the batt one for the amp. You could run a fat 0 gage to a distro block then run 4 awg out of the distro block then ud need a ground for each amp and one for the distro block (depending where u put it and what kinda distro block).
If i run all 0Guage do i still need a distro block, because I'm reading this as i need six pieces of wire ,plus of course the rca;s which im sure are cheap..Do i need a seperate fuse,or just one of bigger size
6 wires is correct, it is safer to fuse all connects however a distro block (if you get the right one) has fusing in it
Princess auto actually has a decent 0ga in and 4ga out distro for I belive $14.99

Im gonna go to a shop for the install, but I'm trying to save some coin by buying all the pieces i need first.I know some shops hate this, but bussiness is bussiness these days.all my stuff is used and of course without warretny.most of it.I have already saved a ton .If i cant find a shop that will piece it 2gether for me,I guess i will put out a call for an installer in the mississauga area.
another 2 quick questions..being that i have two amps...do i need 2 amp kits..? And since my amps are only a kicker 400 and rockford fosgate p200.2 can i just use 8awg amp kits ...assuming i need two of em
