Install with 2 amps??

I plan on running 2 amps in my car. 1 for the subs and 1 for the mids/highs. I don't need to run an electronic crossover do I? I can just split the signal with Y-cables. My only concern would be pushing bass in my satellites right? Unless I cap them. So I guess I answered my own question then. I need an active crossover.

If your high end amp doesn't have a crossover on it I would recommend strongly that you use a crossover

information on your HU might shed some more light on the matter... I also agree that you do need a crossover, but you HU might be able to preform that function for you...

just a thought, Mark

yup, some HU's can be set to send only low frequencies to your sub (50 hz and under or 80 hz and under)(i always set it at 80), then can send only the high frequencies to your other speakers. don't split the signal, run a set of RCA's for your sub signal, and run more RCA's for your speaker signals. what kind of speakers you plan on putting in?

I've got some quartz, 6.5 and alpine 4x6 for the front, fosgate pro 12. Little system, just enough.
