Has any body seperated the screen from the deck itself. Don't need to move it far, just don't want it to be motorized. Going to be flushed into the dash.

 

although that looks nice why would u take a deck like that and totally ruin it? would be cheaper/smarlet to just get a dvd player and a screen, no?

 

If you already own it or you want something with touchscreen.
I think all you would need to do is extend the ribbon. See if their is a manufacturer code on the ribbon or talk to Alpine about getting an extended ribbon or coupler to add another ribbon.

Some ribbons can not be extended ie...PS2. XBOX no problem.

 

i have done deck and eq relocations where the faceplate in the front and the main piece is in the trunk and have never run into a problem
except soldering 20 wires onto a board all nice and close to each other

 

The reason is that no other product that Iknow of has the options of the 310 in a touch screen.
IE. pulse touch and direct access controll on dvd menus. ext ext. And i do not think that it is ruining it just modifying it for a diffrent application. I am doing all Alpine in my car so the 310 is the key peice. For options like touch controls for I-pod, Sirrus, and NAV
