JBL Amp stays on
Hi,need help with my amp install on a 2002 Cavalier. I'm using my amp (JBL BP600.1)with the stock CD player with it connected using the speaker level inputs. The problem I am having is that the Amp stays on all the time even without the rem wire hooked up. Is there a way to fix this or do I need to get a LOC so I use the rca jacks instead? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Mariano

I check and nothing is touching the rem terminal. I Decided to unhook the high level inputs from my speakers to the amp and now when I hook up the power to the amp it doesn't come on until the rem. terminal is connected to a power source. I'm stumped, seems like the amp is designed to work like it does.

amp will not work properly without seeing a signal to the remote terminal

With this feature, the amp turns on automatically when it sees signal and turns back off when there is no signal. Often there is a delay in the turnoff so that it does not cycle off and on between CD tracks or something. Most home subwoofers work this way.
Turn off the radio and wait 3-4 minutes and see if the amp shuts down automatically.
