i bought a brand new kicker ZX1500.1 amp and mounted it on the back seat of my 2002 CIVIC. replaced all the exisiting wiring with 0 gauge power and grnd wire. using the right size ANL fuse along with the remote wire. for some reason the amp LED flickers between Green(Power) and Red(Protection). i dont know wat to do.

Also checked the volts on the wires im getting about 14 with the car ON.

 

Do you have anything hooked up to the amp or is it just the amp. Could be a bad ground, if its brand new you could try and return it.

 

i unhooked everything!!! still its doing that. im trying to run a Dual 2 Ohm L7 kicker with that. i know its new but i boughtit off someone from the forum and that person might give me the paper work by tommorrow. he said he bought it from states i dunno if canadian warranty thru gemsen.com would apply to it. thats my last resource. hopefully it is me who is doing something wrong

 

How'd you hook it up, dual 2ohm in parallel is too much for that amp. There only 2 ohm stable. Doesnt sound good though.

 

Zero warranty on the amp through Gemsen I hate to say. If the amp is indeed faulty, back to the guy who sold it to you it goes. Did this person have and use this amp before? Disconnect the rca cables and speaker wires to see if the light flickers or not.

 

well there's a mixed review about the warranty. car audio haven guy in brampton kinda scared me about the warranty and when i spoke to someone from gemsen they said come on in we will exchange it over the counter. he said they r waiting on 8 amps and they should be in soon. i can call and check back but he definitely wants to see the proof of purchase. the guy who sold it to me i didnt bother him too much yet i want to get the papers off him first then later on i can try to push him.

FOR RED ROCKET:::: im only running one sub in a way such that its a 4 ohm load so that the amp only pushes 750 RMS even tho its 1500 RMS mono amp. i just want too much bass.
