just heard these in a cabinet they sound pretty freaking awesome, now my question is wiring these to a jl xd600/6 these are low powered so what can i do to protect these from the extra juice being put through the channel?

capacitors (simple 6 db/oct crossover), active crossovers, passive crossovers...10 watts rms is typical for most tweeters running full range...as you cross them higher, say 2khz and up the power handling goes up as well. Typical 50 watt rms power handling is usually with 3500hz, 12-24db/oct crossovers. The Ushers would be about the same crossed like that.

perfect, though you may want to play around with the crossover point until you find the best sounding one for you...and like Dukk mentioned...add a 2.4-5 uF capacitor in line on the + speaker wire before the tweeter as added protection should your active crossover fail, or you use the wrong cross point(a very low one) by mistake.

Passives alter the phasing which can make things a little more tricky if you have differing orders.
I do like to add some form of protection for tweeters in an active setup. I usually choose a lightbulb but, in your case, adding a 10uf or higher capacitor can help too.
