2 feet of 8awg power is good enough for over 2000watts. You will be good.

Gauge isn't the only thing that counts, so does length.

Nice thats good to hear man, i will save a few bucks.. Im pretty sure the 4 guage run will be like 12 feet and 8guage runs from the block combined like 2.5 feet. Its a small car plus im not going all the way to trunk, just under seats.

no bloody way this is true... you're tell me i could power a 2krms amps with 8awg if it was 1 foot away from my rear batt?

are you forgetting about current/amperage draw?

i would LIGHT UP that 8awg

might be mistakin here but ure "stock" wire sure as hell aint 4ga and ure alt "CAN" charge quite a bit....... throw defroster on + htr motor on full + wipers here and there and oh ye head/running lights..... that dont catch on fire...
not saying it does it the most eff. ever but still..

like i said ... might be mistaken.

Yeah thats it... I forgot current..... hahaha chump

Like I said, length plays just as mutch a role as does girth. Basically a shorter run of wire offers up less reisstance. Less resistance = less heat.
