Need to verify my wiring
Need to verify my wiring
I have recently updated my sound sytem in my vichle and would like some help on ensuring i have all my wiring done correctly.
Im running:
Alpine deck
Alpine MRD-M500 Amp
2-10" Alpine DVC Type R 4 ohm
4 Gauge wiring
What i really need is how to properly wire the amp directly to the subs.
Thanks in advance for any help

2 d4 subs can be wired to 1 or 4ohms. that amp makes its 500watt power at 2ohms. yours not going to get much out of it and it is NOT 1ohm stable. by the way i would suggest a bare minimum 1000watt rms amp to power those subs.
take a look at rockford fosgates woofer wiring wizard whenever your in doubt!

way underpowered if it's a 4 ohm load. A pair of Rs work okay off 500, but much less and you're better off with a single running the amps 2 ohm load.
Grab another m500 or trade the subs in for dual 2 ohm if possible.

In an ideal world it should be the exact same amp. But unless u can trade or find one used u can use what u got. If one has a subsonic filter (most amps of that power range don't) u could play around with band-passing one and bringing the other in for lower frequencies, but box tuning would come more into play then.
