this is an old school 1984 Dodge Ram van. The engine sits between the riders albeit a bit forward. Sight lines a bit obstructed by Engine. Normal kick pod location is cluttered on drivers side and the passenger side doesn't have much foot room to begin with. I have the 962 ti-elite set which is a ti-6 elite with a 9" midrange. I would like to put the 9"(band-passed 50-150Hz) in the existing door location(see pics below - currently for a 6.5 but there is clearance to fit the 9"). Now where the hell should I put the ti-6 comps(6.5 midrange and tweet)? Should I just go for the pods since that is the only place where I can get anywhere near equidistant? Have a look at the photos and give me your opinion. I'm willing to do whatever it takes...rip into the ceiling;build pods for the pillars, etc.

Thanks everyone!

Ok the link below points to a directory containing ALL of the pictures as well as a manual.

Are you goin to be doing any sound competitions or is it just for you? there are a few spots u can do on the doors if you want line of sight for the 6.5 and tweet. For the 6.5 try between the window crank and the are rest, if u have to make a new arm rest and have the arm rest kind of go over top of the speaker, semi stealth then. for the tweeter go higher up towards the window and flush mount it flat, all you have to do then is make a of a pod due to the curved part towards the window, but it should look okay still.

Yes, just for me, no competitions. Yes, that location would be good for the 6.5 , do you not think the window which rolls right behind it is a challenge? what do you suggest - build it out and try to get some sort of sealed space?

thanks for the ideas.

come on people...ideas

For the mounting depth take that panel off and look to see what is in the way, and then do some measuring for depth. Worst case scenario, is that ull have take some mdf and build up the speaker to fit better. but then also u could make some custom arm rests that has the speaker built into it. If I get energetic, i could whip up a few sketchs to get some ideas for u on the arm rest speaker pod. i just dont have a scanner tho, so ill use my handcam to get them on the comp...
