Pioneer deh-3300ub remote wire

K I broke my other deck and bought a pioneer deh-3300ub. I already had an amp and 2 10's hooked up but decided to buy new wiring. After installing the wiring and new deck I noticed the amp wasn't turning on. I tried a trick a friend told me and took a 4" spare remote wire and crossed that between the 12v input and the remote input while it was all wired to the deck and car batt. The amp turned on so i was told it was the remote wire.

Question is how do I fix this so the remote turns on the amp?

Thanks for the replys

This is honestly.. a really stupid question? Sorry. Common sense tells you to put a voltage meter on the wire with the car running and go from there.. If the voltage meter comes up with nil..

Run a wire straight from the deck to the amp without stowing it away in any trim panels, if it works then your old one is either grounded out, wired incorrectly or a bad deck.

Resolve as needed...

Also check to see if it comes on when the radio is on, then it is hooked up to the power ant wire not the remote on. Switch the remote to the other blue wire on the deck.
