Pioneer SPH-DA100 reverse camera issues
I just finished installing a Pioneer SPH-DA100 in my 2013 Scion XB including a rear view camera. Everything is working as expected except when I start the car it always is in the rearview camera mode. I originally had the purple reverse signal wire connected to accessory power through a switch (as suggested by others in posts about how to connect Pioneer deck with rearview camera), so I could enable the rearview mode on the deck manually. this worked but sometimes it would switch on its own, so I disconnected the switch making the reverse sense connect to nothing now. I can enter the rearview mode via the touch screen. cam icon is grey when off and turns blue when touched, enabling the cam mode. I noticed that when i had the switch connected to accessory power, the switch on made cam mode come on but was not turning it off properly when switch was turned off (cam icon stayed blue, did not turn grey). does the reverse signal wire need to be grounded or something to have it go off properly and may be the cause of the deck starting up in cam mode when I start the car? Any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

If you want the camera to work properlly, both of your reverse outputs,( from the deck and from the camera ) go to the reverse wire in the vehicle. No switch. On the Pioneer deck menu for the back up camera ( IF APPLICABLE) make sure its on 12 volts for the camera, not ground.
Your reverse light wire is RED located at the interior fusebox top left 20 pin white connector, test the wire don't assume.

thanks for the reply. I had the camera set to wrong setting lol, so it was acting weird. Works as expected now with the switch. I choose this setup over the reverse lead because where I live I have to parallel park often and it bugs me when the cam switches on and off when I change directions.
