i would recommend butt connector then solder

how do you solder two pieces of 4 guage together
just butt them up and then solder
or do you twist them together then solder them

 

yon don't solder join 4 guage, anyone who would try that would butcher the wire. 14 guage is one thing 4 guage is another.

 

It must have been for something else.. I was down at the garage changing my oil on the car, and i saw the piping on a roll so I snagged a inch of it and made my own butt connector. Im no mechanic,, thats the only thing i could think of what the tubing could be used for...

 

rockney:mit's used for AC lines usually.

 

Put a ring terminal on both wire ends and connect together with a nut and bolt. Heat shrink it (I usually use electrical and rubber tape)and it should be dandy for the life of the car
