I'm installing an HD Radio Tuner. Looking for a place to put it and connect the antenna to it, I found a little box in the roof panel with the coax and a power lead. It has no power. Was I supposed to power it fron the head unit when I installed it year and a half ago? Could this explain why the AM reception really sucks and FM isn't as good as the factory radio was?

Anyway, Do you think i should put power to it from the power antenna lead on the tuner? Anybody got ideas?

The interface/harness (LanStar1) says nothing about power to the antenna. Car's an 06 MonteSS, Alpine HD Tuner is TUA-500HD.
