Hi,

Not too experienced with car audio installs. I have a JL Audio 500/5 amp and it *just* fits in a space in a spot in the rear of my 2002 Saab 9-3. It's a hatchback so the area back there is large and the spot I have picked out is in the rear corner.

The cooling fins and the opposite side's connector panel will have two or three inches clearance. The bottom and top will not be touching anything (bottom offset from a mounting plate by 1-2 inches.

The amp will be upright and the ends will be touching carpet above and below. Should I be concerned about that?

i wouldnt worry about it my amp is under my seat on the carpet and gets supper hot at times (cant touch it to hot) and so far not melting of the carpet or the plastic thats close to it
