Proper fusing/breaker size
Hi there,
Noob here. I am installing 2 Kaption amps, an MX1000 and an AS100.4. The MX has 3 x 35 amp fuses and the AS has 2 x 25 amp fuses. I plan on running 4 gauge wiring from the distribution block to each amp but I have a few questions.
1-at the battery, should I run one fuse per amp or one fuse for both amps??
2-what size fuse should be at the battery for 1fuse/2fuse setup?
Battery to amp distance is less than 4 feet.

I was also thinking about a circuit breaker at the battery and then running to a distribution block and then 1 fuse per amp after the distribution block. Any comments or suggestions would be welcome. If this is a recommeded setup, what size breaker should be used and again, what size fuses?

If your amps are only 4feet from the battery then ditch the distro block and just run two leads direct from the battery. This minimises connection points which is always good.
Either use a battery terminal with a built-in fuse (150-200amps) or fuse each wire separately for 150a for the sub amp and 50-100a for the highs amp. The amps have their own fuses so your battery fuses are there to protect the power cables.
