lol ok, I have a Clarion APX4361 640w amp, specs say that it is 320w in bridged. On the amp itself the bridged inputs say 4 Ohm. Here's a small copy from the amp manual,

Mono Amp configuration (APX4361)
• Set rear crossover mode to LP
• Set input mode switch to L + R (Mono)
• Set crossover frequency to ~80Hz
• Fine-tune crossover frequency to suit
musical tastes and performances
• 2Ω min stereo / 4Ω min mono
Note:
You may bridge the front, rear or both pairs of channels using the above settings


Now I have 2 12" Kicker Comp VR subs, 2 Ohm DVC.

Now my question is this, does the 2 Ohm min stereo mean that I can hook up the subs in 2 Ohm, one sub to each out bridged output? Or can I only do a 4 Ohm load to each bridged output?


Second part of the question, does internal wiring of each sub affect anything, in terms of wiring the subs, because with 2 ohm subs you can wire them two ways to achieve the final 2 Ohm load...

Lastly, input on the best wiring for what I have would be great, if I am way off base or something My input is coming from a single RCA, which I can Y-harness into two for whatever my best wiring options would be

Think I finally found the answer to my question lol, and that is that the 4 ohm minimum on an amp is for bridged, so my setup would be best with each bridged channel on mono out to each sub at 4 Ohm, giving each channel 320w?

..was just a question of how amp specs are translated heh...well I feel like a dummy

 

Since your subs are dual voice coil 2 ohm each.

And your amp specs are:
APX 4-Channel Car Amplifier
RMS Power Rating:

4 ohms: 90 watts x 4 chan.
2 ohms: 160 watts x 4 chan.
Bridged, 4 ohms: 320 watts x 2 chan.


I would wire each subs voice coils in series to produce 4 ohms at each sub.

And bridge your amp to send 320 watts at 4 ohms to each sub individually from the 2 channels (which are bridged ie. 'Bridged, 4 ohms: 320 watts x 2 chan.')

 

I agree.
The bridged amp when connected to a 4 Ohm load, will react to 1/2 the resistance it sees, because each channel on the amp is seeing 1/2 load, which is 2 Ohms.
