Are there any simple tests I can do to ensure that my JL 500/1, which arrived in the mail today, is not DOA?

How much does bench testing cost? Where could I take it to get bench tested?

That or just run some wire from an old batt or you batt in you car. Get a test speaker (like factory ones that you took out to install the gear). Then get a 1/4" headphone to RCA cable or make one and use a discman.

Thats what i do.

I am charging $25.00 (no taxes yet) for a basiuc amp bench test. This includes channel output error and power production into any rated loads that amp can handle.
