I need to replace the spare tire cover in my trunk.I've been told I should use MDF for it.I have this bigass sheet of partical board been sitting in my bedroom for like a year now...could I use that?

I figure cut it down to size and then paint it to match the trunk and also as sort of a sealer...

Would it work?
