Sub Installation to Factory Stereo...

I just purchased a NEW VW Jetta and I miss my bass, or at least some. Can someone recommend to me a CHEAP way for now for me to add a sub to my car without having to replace my headunit. I cannot afford one of those at the moment.

I have heard you can splice into the rear speakers and use that for your source input. Obtaining the main power is a no brainer, what about the remote turn on, what can be used for this.

WOuld this work to feed the speakers into before the sub.

thats what you need. it would be good to pick up a line driver to!

Your other option is to use an amp that comes with high level inputs

Could you show me a link for a line driver?

If I had an amp that used high level inputs is this a better option? Could the speakers then be directly connected?

I would get the Req from mtx, it's line out put converter and also gives you a remote output as well. It's a little more expensive than a regular line output converter but worth the money.

with an amp with high level inputs it eliminates the need for a line out converter and you just splice the stock speaker wires strait to it.

heres a link to the MTX one he mentioned. it is actually really good the biggest problem i had when running the stock deck was the bass pulling the stock deck does at high volume and this helps to eliminate that.
