Please ask someone else to verify this.

Hi Drew,

I am by not means an expert and you might want to post that same question in your own posting so people would be more likely to look at it to respond. Hopefully someone will verify what I am saying here for you before you start. First thing is read the manual that came with the subs and compare it to what I am writing here. If it says something different go with the manual.

The way I think of the voice coils is that they are interchangeable as to which one is number one or two when it comes to wiring identical subwoofers. Just call one voice coil one (usually the top one) and the lower one (depending on how your connections go) is voice coil 2. On other subs all the connections are in a row (such as my Alpines). Call the +/- on the left voice coil 1 and the +/- on the right voice coil 2. Just make sure you call them the same on both subwoofers. (ie on both subwoofers the top set of connects is Coil 1). Also label or call one Subwoofer 1 and the other subwoofer 2 (just for descriptive purposes). Why don't we call the subwoofer on your left subwoofer 1 and the one on the right subwoofer two. Turn them so the the connections are face up.

Okay now simply follow the wiring diagram.

1.Jumper or attach a wire from the negative on voice coil 1 to the positive on voice coil 2. Do this on both subs.

Next take the

Now the next question depends on whether or not you running both subs in the same box.

If the same box..
You want to take the positive from voice coil (VC) on sub 1 and attach it to the + on sub 2 voice coil 1. You would then attach from sub 1 VC 1 + to your positive binding post (if that sub is the closest to your bind post). Yes that means that post will have two wires attached to it.

Now do the same for your negative side but use voice coil 2. Take the - from voice coil 2 of sub 1 and run a wire to the negative on voice coil 2 of subwoofer 2. Then on the same subwoofer that you attached from the + of Voice coil 2 to the binding post...do the same for the negative. Attach from the negative from voice coil 2 and attach it to the binding post.

So the subwoofer that is closest to the binding posts for your box should have extra wires going from the + of voice coil 1 to the + on the binding post. And the - from voice coil 2 going to the negative on the bind post. This is illustrated best with the rockford fosgate wizard..

http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woofer_wizard.asp?submitted=true&woofer_qty=2&woof er_imp=3

You want to look at wiring option 2 - for 2 ohm load using 2 - two ohm dual voice subwoofers.

I guess a good way to phrase this (to use an anology) if you have ever worked around batteries..voice coils on subwoofers are kind of the same thing. If you have two identical same DC batteries (same age/amperage etc) that are both 12 VDC it does not matter which one you put first or 2nd but IT DOES MATTER how you wire them (ie. 12 volt or 24 volts).

Sorry the lengthy response and I hope this helps. Hopefully someone will respond to verify what I am saying

Cheers,

Matt
