I have read a couple different views on this. Need some clarification from someone who really knows what they are talking about.
I have 2 12"- SVC 4 ohm Subs. I also have a monoblock amp that has 2 sets of terminals.
Now if I run the speakers in series they give me a 2 ohm draw, which I want.
But if I have 2 sets of terminals which set do I hook up to?
Also, I heard the speaker terminals on the monoblock actually run parallel on the single channel, so I could actually just hook up each sub directly to each set of terminals and get a 2 ohm load.
Make sense? I know I am a little confused.
Been removed from all this for a while so a little rusty.

 

4ohm on each terminal will give you the 2ohm final load you want so you got it right

 

I'm going to have to correct you on a few things, just so there's no confusion on terms.

This is wiring in series (resulting in a 8 ohm load in your application):




and this is parallel (resulting in a 2 ohm load in your application):





Inside the amplifier the two sets of terminals are wired in parallel. They give you two sets of terminals to make things easier for yourself. Running one speaker to each set of terminals is doing exactly what you want, and what you're predicting.
