Werid issue, Could it be something in my setup?

Okay so I have a weird problem occurring, now im not sure if its something in my setup or if its just a weird coincidence.... I have had my setup in two different cars now & on my first car I ended up going through 2 alternators, and now on my second car alternator #1 just died...

I dont even have much in the car, here is my setup, Alpine CDE-9881 HU with Ipod hooked up, MTX TC2002 amp running a 12" Boston Acoustic 400Wsub, and a 1 Farad Stinger powercap. Everything else in both cars I had this setup in was stock, no other amps no other speakers nothing.

Now is this a weird coincidence that my second car I have had this setup in just went through an alternator or could there perhaps be a component in my setup killing my alternator?

maybe useing the stereo at high volume over a long period of time is draining your cap and causing your alternator to run too long? dumb theory! maybe your power cable isnt big enough to supply to the cap then amp? or you just have bad luck with alternators! ask the repair shop what components failed, the solder joints on the diodes can melt from overheating
