From your question I would say the most important material would be someone who knows what they are doing.
Other than that I would say use 4 guage for power wire, get an amp kit from a company like Stinger or Streetwires, it will have everything you need. To build the box and an amp rack, I would think you would need some MDF, wood glue, screws, spray glue, carpet (or whatever covering material you want to use).

Thanks for the info!
I definately am getting someone who has installed subs and amps before its just buying the neccessities for them to work with and usually they charge more if than the actual costs, as well as I can get a lot of materials at cost from a local friend who works at the hardware store by me!
