Will this all work
Will this all work
Hello,
so this is my VERY first attempt at anything car stereo related;
and i am wondering if this will all work okay.
( if you have some good suggestions please tell me)
(also im looking for SQ not SPL)
Alpine IDA-x303 for the head unit
(2) SPR-17c w/ JL 360/4 amp
HO112R-W6v w/ JL Jx500/1 amp
will the amp adequately power everything?
what about the sound quality of the headunit and the alpine speakers?
I also heard some extremely good things about JL and sound quality.

X-303 has a 12 bit DAC. I don't know what SQ guys think about that. Also only playing iPod/ USB some would see as a drawback due to music compression. You can do full size files on USB and lossless on iPod but def takes up a lot more room
I don't compete so others may have a more informed opinion about competition standards. Some are very opinionated. A lot of guys use really high end, expensive drivers and amps. So I'd say depending on your ultimate goal and budget some would say u should alter some things.
I personally run an Ida-x100(24 bit dac) which is the older version of the 305 and like it's sound with good recordings behind it. I also like the type r speakers with some power behind them. Go for a set of components in the front. The type r crossovers have like 7 different levels of tweeter attenuation and may help tune for location. I'd say if YOU are happy with what you've demo'd, go for it. No experience with JL amps but if specs are good and you like the sound it should sound good.
Speaker location is also very important. Keep tweeters near woofers if doin components. Most guys will mount in kick pods for as equal a path length as possible. Also let's sounds "mingle" before they hit yer ear.
Listen to a couple different setups if you can and let your ears decide. You'll be the one listening to it every day. And you may not like the sound of speaker "x" as much as the next guy.
How much RMS power is the 4-ch? 90rmsx4? That's good music power. I'm assuming the sub amp is 500 RMS which is enough to drive 1 sub well. Even 2 if u want a little more. Make sure sub impedances jive with amp
Good luck
