Wiring from amp to subs

im a little confused with how i should wire my subs to my amp.

my subs are infinity reference 1252w:
-300 rms
-2ohm dvc.. i think each coil is 2 ohms

amp: hifonics brutus bxi1208D
-1200 rms @ 1 ohm
-900 rms @ 2 ohms
-450 rms @ 4 ohms
-Mono sub amp
the amp is mono however it has 2 speaker outputs for running dual subs on it
to help simplify wiring.

the only thing im confused about, how do i wire it? im alright running 900 rms into the two subs because there only temporary subs for now anyways.

how i beleive you wire it now is the positive and negative lead on each sub connected to the positive n negative terminals and on each sub put a wire connecting the positive on one coil to the negative on the other coil.

is that correct? and that wiring would give me 2 ohms overall correct?

If the voice coils are 2ohms each, then running them in series will give you 4ohms per speaker. So it's 450 and not 900.

This should help a bit.

Basically you will end up with two 4ohm speakers. You run those in parallel to the amp to get a final draw of 2ohms from the amp. Total is 900watts, 450watts per sub.

thats what i had thought but i alos thought it might be 4 ohms overall because the coils are run in series.

thanks for the help

Well, one speaker has 2 coils. Each coil is 2ohms. When you grab one speaker and series the coils, you end up with a total of 4ohms (2x2). So now you have two speakers which are 4ohms a piece. If you ran those two together in series (4x2), you'd end up with 8ohms. Running them in parallel (4/2) gives you 2 ohms.

In my car I have a one dual voice coil sub, where each coil is 2ohms. I have the two coils running in series to give me 4ohms. My amp is officially only 4ohm stable, so it's perfect. If I wanted to add second sub, I would be stuck with either 2 or 8 ohms, or running my speakers in stereo at 4ohms each. Yuck.
