wiring speakers to 4 channel amp

Hey there, just installed door and rear speakers as well as a new deck in my 03 sunfire. I just bought a 4 channel sony amp to protect my speakers and give them a little more umph. I've watched a number of tutorials and have done my homework and I'm pretty confident I can install the amp myself, however all the tutorials are for installing a subwoofer and I can't figure out how to connect my rear and door speakers to my amp:
Question Is...
Do i disconnect them from the head unit and run them to the amp from there? OR do i have to remove my door panels and whatnot and run them to the amp directly from their location? Help please.

Thanks

you either need to use the oem speaker wires going to each speaker or run new wires, and connect those to your amp. If you use the oem speaker wires you'll still need some regular speaker wires to get to the oem connector from the amp and possibly an oem adapter (which you may already have in order to connect the head unit) to access the oem speaker wires. The flow chart goes; head unit audio signals to amp(via high or low level inputs), amp output to speakers (via speaker wires).
