I recently purchased a new Clarion DXZ945MP headunit. I'm doing the install myself into a 97' Acura 1.6EL. I got the Honda harness and soldered and sealed the wires accordingly. Checked the voltages - getting 14.2V on memory power and main power with engine running. Turned off the car and plugged the unit in.

When I started the car and tried to turn the HU on, nothing happened. I turned on the headlights and the buttons lit up, I pushed the RESET switch on the HU and heard the CD motor wind and I even managed to activate the eject (front panel flips open) ONCE. But still nothing is showing on the display.

Is it lacking enough current drive since I'm not directly hooked to the battery? The fuses have all been checked. Did I blow the unit?

Does anyone have experience installing Clarion unit into Acura/Hondas? Would appreciate a Clarion/Honda wiring matchup. Thanks

HELP!

Oops, I figured out my mistake. First time installer inexperience. I was looking at the Clarion wiring diagram and didn't know the difference between "Bus power lead" and "Power lead". So I assumed that bus power lead was the main power since it was in BOLD and had a fuse on it. After some searching on the web, I found that it should be the red wire (power lead) that should be hooked up to the 12V.

Thanks for your reply Ettore.
