I think he means that they are electronically limited in their top speeds.

the german manufacturers are known to limit most of their cars to 155mph, and some others have followed suit.

they can be disabled, and usually are by owners in germany.

Well I assumed he was talking about a Rev limiter. just about every car will have one of them, with varying points of cut-off... Now of course that limits speed, because your speed is determined by RPM, and Gearing, but still.

Can stock tires even handle 170+ mph? Just seems like a bad suicidal idea.

Just make sure when you do your tests you're not near anybody in case you blow up, because a LOT of cars out there can go 170+ mph including mine, I'm just not quite so suicidal.

i had a 300c and the weight and suspension on it, imo is far from safe or satistfactory. I did corners at barely any speeds and the wheels were loosing tracksion and the whole car tilting as if it was a SUV. Seriously man, I highly suggest you slow down and don't play with your life like that because like I said, probably 75% of the cars today can go that speed, (speed cap removed of course) it's just that, what's the point of going so fast?

Most likely nothing more than a pissing contest, that's what has made car manufactures push the limits since day one... it's why the Hayabusa is the fastest street legal bike manufactured today.. Honda, Kawasaki, and Suzuki were competing to see who could make the fastest bike available, and it climbed upwards with every generation from the 3... then the hayabusa came out and there was a speed cap put on motorcycles at 300 KM/H, leaving the Hayabusa the fastest, wile the likes from honda, and suzuki were limited to 300k.

300k, is about 185 mph, or there abouts.. there are lots of cars that will exceed this right from the factory, with only a rev limiter to stop them from over reving, and blowing the engine.
