*SIGH*.....not only am I dial-up...my regular connection is 26.4, 28.8 on a REALLY good day. I get pretty excited when I see 3 kb/s.Telesat is supposed to be offering two way satellite internet for cheaper than the other companies in the spring. I won't hold my breath, though. No cable...no DSL...and I'd have to chop down a giant old maple in my front yard to get line-of-site microwave.

Went from Dial Up, to Satelite (expensive to buy the modem and you pay a lot when you go over your limit, was from bell express vu, you still had to have the dial up upload line) finally to cable after that, and dad's awaiting DSL in the area to get it cause this just isn't fast enough for 'em lol

DSL all the way IMO

Lucky bastard. Bah...I really don't like society enough to live too close to it. Small price to pay.

dial up, on a good day ill get a 31.2 for connection. I cant get cable or dsl because I live about 10 miles from nearest town, dial up is my only option (other than rediculisly expensive satllite connection).

speed would depend mostly speed tier, some offer 3.0 mbps and 384 kb uplead, others offer crapp 1.5 mbps. in most places in canada dsl offers greater speeds and is more effective because its speed is not based on amount of people connected. most cable providers offer 1.5 mbps

I had dial up until 2 years ago. Then I switched to 3 mb DSL. I like it and have no complains. I do have a quota of 700mb in a 24 hour period but I break that almost every day with no complains yet.

Yes I remember to 30 minutes wait to download a song. Now it's a 30 minute wait for a 700 MB file.

I need faster though. 350kb/sec just isn't fast enough when they have fiber optic down in the states now
