I had a short ram with a CAI add-on from Dragon Racing, in my 93 altima cost of one deep puddle was $1200 for 3 stuck injectors $80 for diagnostics, and a tank of gas, my computer thaught it would be a good wayto compensate for the water by opening the injectors a wide as they could, then they stuck there... It was a sad lesson to learn.

hitting a pudle wont do anything. youd have to burry the front end in water to hydrolock your engine.

It really depends on what vehicle the cai is on. Some are worse than others. There are people driving around srt-4s with a cai that have hydrolocked in less than 8 inches of water.

Why aren't those SRT4 owners doing the ram air mod that the factory practically invites you to do, what with the duct from the hood scoop bumping out right over top of the air box.

Actually the duct is already set up dumping cold air over the turbo which is located in the back of the engine bay. Ram air really doesn't do much for forced induction. A CAI on a turbo engine is kinda useless when the same result can be had with a SRI, and there is much less chance of hydrolock.

I used an AEM too, noticed a big difference. It really makes a diference using a name brand intake, rather than a cheapy...I tried both.

ok why would I want to submerge my car in 8inches of water???.... Trust me my mechanic buddie said it's a waste of money on my car because of where the intake is..... but yeah I was stoked today... I got a chance to push it a little and I went through a 1/4 tank of gas from Kelowna to Kamloops..... at an avg speed of 130km
