Yes charged with man slaughter would be good as well... If you kill someone would it be considered 2nd degree murder cause it wasn't planned?

Your friend can still go after the driver in a Civil suit even if the Crown get doesn't get him for criminal negligence...as a matter of fact if the Crown gets him for criminal negligence it'll be a lot easier to get the driver ina civil suit.

I see a big payout for your friend from the Insurance unless Sask has no fault insurance.

I have lost a number of friends to drinking and driving. I am glad your friend was not added to the list.

We do silly dangerous things every day (drink, smoke, high SPL, unprotected sex, drive too fast, drive distracted), this is another example of the consequences of our actions.

My cousin was killed years ago before I was born due to her drunk, moron boyfriend driving too fast around a corner....she was thrown from the truck and the truck landed on top of her, killing her instantly.

I've heard my parents talk about it so many times, and yet I will still get into my car after 2-3 drinks.....I know my limit and when I should absolutly not drive...but technecally nobody should be allowed to drive after any amount of alchol has been in thier system.

I pretty much learned my lesson after my little dirtbiking accident. 6 beer and 3 rye shots in, I decided it would be fun to go for a little rip on quite possibly the most powerful 250 2 stroke bike on earth. Well I ended up so badly ripped apart I couldn't sleep for close to 3 days because of the pain and I spent 2 weeks in agony because the healing proccess took it's time and I didn't bother to go to the hospital.

I got some pics of the road rash too...bad pics but they'd give you the idea of what I went through.
