So here's the scoop. I"ve been oh high speed ADSL for the last 5 years. My connection has NEVER been down and it's been stable synced at 3.5 mbps down and 800k up.
Where I work they offer me to do a trial with our own ADSL product as a tested but I had to cancel with my current provider. So I say why not it's free, what could happen.
So my original provider was supposed to de-comission me out of their DSLAM and put me over to my new provider's. 1 month has passed, mind you i'm still working fine on high speed. Then Friday all went down hill. Turns out my original provider pulled me out of their equipment yet did nothing else, like putting my into the proper equipment so I can work with my new provider.
I"m now down, out of service!!!!!
I call tech support and they tell me that they have no process or proceedure on how to fix this. They said that they never thought of this kind of situation.
It took me about an hour to dig up my U.S. Robotics 33.6 dial up modem to hook up and get back on line.
it is so nerve racking that when I get in on Monday heads are going to roll.
Has anyone had any similar situations or has been down with their internet connection?
Just looking for some sympathy.......

I feel your PAIN . When I go to visit family out in the boonies , Mother is always needing updates/ upgrades and is on dial-up, w/ 1 phone line . So you know it all has to be done after 9 pm when nobody would DARE ring Mother 's phone . A 15 second update here is a 45 min wait out there! Go rip someone a new 1 ! Hope your back on real internet soon !

Well I'm back up. Thank God.
Actually even faster then before.
I'm now at 2.8mbps down and 800k up.
I'm going to test it out tonight.
What can I say I finally found a good tech support girl that actually knew what she was doing.
Root cause my adsl port was not activated.
Go figure.
I'm happy now.
