Anyone have any experience shipping HEAVY, BIG stuff from the States?
I am ordering a soft-top for my truck, and to save a lot of $$$, I am going to probably end up ordering it from a manufacturer in Denver, Colorado.
I live in TOronto.
I am guessing this package will weigh upwards of 50 pounds, and be fairly large and rectangular(estimating like 2ft x 3ft x 1ft)
It will have to be insured for $550 USD.
I am presuming its gonna have to go courier at this point.
I would like it to be here in roughly a week or two.

I am just looking for your personal or business experiences, opinions, etc...

This is not really a fragile item, so I am not too worried about its durability, as much as I am worried about it just getting here in a decent amount of time.
I have never really oredered/bought anything from the US, I try hard to keep my shipped purchases within Canada, for peace of mind's sake... but this is a very hard-to-find item in the GTA...and its something that costs well over $1000 to buy here, and you get NO choices on colour, style, etc, while with the Denver company, they give you made-to-order options.
Please, folks, lend me your knowledge....

Fedex ground.
I get about 20 - 30 boxes/week via Fedex Ground and they are usually pretty efficient and cheap.
Shipping should take between 10-14 days and cost around 50 bucks.

UPS will be cheaper than fedex and USPS for large boxes usually.. and it's guaranteed to be here in a week.
