Hey people...got rid of my debit card from one bank....didn't think much of it at the time. But now, when i went to deposit money onto my visa thru an ATM (inserting visa card) i found out i could only take money otu. Can i set it up so that i'm able to deposit too?
I don't wanna have to send cheque's or something or actually go into the bank to pay.

As long as your Visa is set up for ABM access you can. But you need to have it set up first. You can actually attach your bank accounts to your visa so when you go to the abm, you can access your accounts too. It just won't work at an Interac machine like a bank card would.

If you can get cash from your Visa at the ATM yuo should be able to pay it there also.
I have a CIBC Visa.
I do not have any bank accounts with CIBC and therefor have no CIBC ATM card.
I never requested ATM banking capabilities but they sent me a four digit code for cash advances on the Visa.
I can however go to any CIBC ATM, put in my CIBC Visa, select "pay credit card", key in the four digit code, and deposit money on the card.
This is how I payed the card for two years before I started internet banking.

I attached my FirstLine Visa to my bills that I pay @ CIBC. ex. My telus bill, utilities, etc...
It's so convenient*sp man. I'm still to chicken for online banking even though my wife works as a personal banker @ the bank I have my chequing account. She wants to do all our banking online....it scares me. She says it's all good, but it still scares me.

i use my visa like a debit card (only i spend money that i know i have), then i get as many tranasactions as i want and i get the points on my visa card. then i just go to the ATM and transfer funds from my savings account to my visa every week or so and no interest!

Online banking is definitely the way to go.
It's a Royal Bank VISA. I'll have to make an attempt to get up early and hit the bank tommorrow (now that i have a reason to get up).
Maybe i was on glue when i went the other day, but i swear i put in my code and it said do you want 20,40,60, or 80 out,....or cancel.
Guess i'll let y'all know tommorrow when Royal Bank Visa's are wacky tobacky or not. On a plus side, they're sending me a platinum visa...YAY...then i'll be cool! (no more classic crap)
