can you get a ticket for having your music to loud?
Hey guys I was just driving back home and there was this cop about 200 feet away from me waving thumbs down. I think it was because I had my music high( it wasn't even that high it was about halfway to the max level!) But can you really get a ticket for having your music to loud? is really having your music loud during the day really breaking the law. I can see at night having your music blasting is not nice at all, but in the day it should be fine. Have you guys ever heard of someone being fined for having there music loud or someone getting fined or pulled over because there music was loud??
Is there a certain volume that it should be. I dont think that is fair that the rednecks are allowed to strait pipe there exhaust and make it sound much louder. I would say its just as bad, Most likely much louder than my music.
I just really hate when rednecks put fart cans on there trucks and cars to.
Any Ideas?

Yes you can indeed get a ticket for excessive noise. You are indeed breaking the law. It makes no difference whether or not it is during the day or not. Just because you may sleep at night does not mean that the people you disturb during the day sleep at night. What if they work night shifts as nurses, police officers, military members, squishy mart employees etc?
It is not a case of rednecks and fart cans and you and your music. You were in the right place and at the right time and the officer noticed you. That is why you were singled out. 200 feet away, you were disturbing more than just him for sure. Turn the music down and be responsible about how you play it.
Yes people have been pulled over and yes people have gotten tickets from this, don't make yourself one of the statistics.

So do you have a vehicle with a after market stereo system in it? If you do, You never Turn up your music? You just keep it at a low volume. Or do you find a road were no one is and then crank it? like I mean a road that is deserted and no house or anything like way in the boonies.

I have had many systems with loud music and at one point in time I would do what I want when I wanted and did not care what others though. Then I grew up and realized that how I do things are bothering other people and the only way it could be solved is if I solved it or had it solved for me (ticket etc.). If I want to enjoy my music I will do it in a safe manner and ensure that it does not bother anyone else. BC has many highways where one can just head out on a roadtrip and not bother anyone.

The other issue at stake is can you honestly say you would hear an emergency vehicle siren with the music loud enough to be heard from 200' away? I got surprised by a cop this morning with the tunes going, luckily the flashing lights caught my attention as he was coming towards me at a set of lights and turning left right in front of me.
